What a tutor’s calendar needs to show
A tutor should be able to identify who is expected, when the lesson starts, its duration and where it will happen. When several tutors share administration, the responsible professional must also be clear. Avoid using a general client note as a substitute for a reliable calendar.
A lesson booking is an administrative commitment. It does not establish what was taught, whether the learner attended or whether payment was received. Keep those questions distinct.
Start with recurring time
Record only the series actually agreed with the learner or parent. Protect breaks, preparation and travel. For online lessons, arrange the joining instructions through the chosen meeting provider; a booking link does not necessarily create a video room.
Fictional example: one weekly lesson moves for a holiday. Check the single occurrence and verify the following week still appears correctly. A whole-series edit can create confusion long after the original change.
Pilot one realistic week
- Create a new learner booking with fictional details.
- Move one occurrence without rewriting the series.
- Check the teacher and learner-facing information.
- Record a completed lesson and a separate payment.
- Review how a canceled or missed lesson remains identifiable.
- Ask another authorized tutor to explain the revised schedule without relying on the original private conversation.
Know the product boundary
Ogedex adapts terminology and supports professional calendars, recurring appointments, tasks and business records. It is not a school roster, graded assessment, classroom attendance or learning management system.
Confirm the administrative features you need before migration, including access and export behavior. The application currently operates in Brazilian Portuguese, so verify language and market requirements. Teaching progress belongs in an appropriate teaching workflow rather than being inferred from a filled calendar.
