Session packages
How to design session packages with clear terms and usage records
Ogedex editorial team · · Read in Portuguese
Define what a session package includes, how visits are booked and how balances are tracked without confusing a discount with a suitable service plan.
Service suitability comes before the bundle
A package is a commercial arrangement, not a clinical recommendation. The responsible professional determines whether the service and any sequence are appropriate. Do not choose a fixed number of treatments simply because a bundle looks easier to market.
Explain the actual included services and avoid promising outcomes. For health-related businesses, professional, consent and privacy requirements need separate review before any software or package is adopted.
Make the terms understandable
- State the included service and number of sessions.
- Explain how appointments are requested and confirmed.
- Clarify applicable timing, changes and unused-session arrangements.
- Describe payment amounts and due dates accurately.
- Do not treat a generic template as jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
- Give the client a clear opportunity to ask questions before accepting the arrangement, rather than introducing restrictions after purchase.
Check the discount against real capacity
Fictional example: a five-session package reserves five separate periods of professional time. A lower combined price still needs to support supplies, staffing and overhead. Selling a package does not create additional appointment capacity.
Keep three records distinct: what was purchased, what was delivered and what money was received. A partial payment should not create a second sale, and a future booking should not be mistaken for a completed session.
Test usage and reversals in Ogedex
Ogedex includes package usage, appointments and payment administration. Before entering real balances, test a fictional package, one completed visit, a cancellation and a correction. Confirm the remaining sessions and payment balance remain explainable.
The application does not process the end client’s bank or card payment simply because it records a receipt. Review the full agreement with qualified advisers where needed and use the package tools to support, not replace, accurate staff administration.
